about

'Think Fast' is a song I wrote about going out on my own. And this is also another song that hits the main idea of 'Alone with Dreamers' and following my dreams independently.

Taking the things that people have said to me like warnings and ‘these are things you need to look out for’ or words of advice from my parents. And how I use all of this knowledge to actually pursue something.

It’s about taking that next step.

lyrics

Kind of quiet to a city
Big moon shines on a dusty sky
Came time to move along
Fatal cracks of a lightning strike
Shakes my voice, how to sleep at night?
I'm not home no more

And I've never been gone this long before
No, never been gone this long before

Think fast
Our lives are moving past
The colors on my tracks are burnt and faded
Going out unaided
To find out where I'll last, thinking fast

The air is warm out in Old Oak Ridge
Never thought to cross that bridge
But I knew that it led somewhere
My folks back home would tell me right
"This world is cruel", but not tonight
So long, gift-wrapped childhood

And I've never been gone this long before
No, never been gone this long before

Think fast
Our lives are moving past
The colors on my tracks are burnt and faded
Going out unaided
To find out where I'll last, thinking fast

Think fast
Our lives are moving past
The colors on my tracks are burnt and faded
Going out unaided
To find out where I'll last, thinking fast

Going out unaided
To find out where I'll last, thinking fast
